Stephen founded Prescience Research in 2004 following roles in marketing consulting and insights with KPMG, Sutherland Smith, Millward Brown, DBM Consultants and Wallis Consulting.

With over 38 years of experience in the market research field, Stephen is an expert in the application of advanced mathematical techniques to market and social research problems and he is well known for his thoughtful use of statistical models as a bridge to better decision making and insight. He has applied these methods in a variety of fields including customer service and loyalty studies, advertising response, brand health tracking, time series analysis / econometric modelling, customer segmentation, data mining and demand estimation models including choice modelling, conjoint and simulated test markets.

Stephen is a Qualified Practising Market Researcher with the Research Society and was selected as a Fellow in 2018. He is a frequent presenter at industry conferences. He was awarded best paper at the 2018 Research Society conference for the paper “Improving Inferences from non-probability panels” with Darren Pennay (Social Research Centre).

Stephen ran key training courses for the Research Society from 2004 – 2017 on statistical analysis and data modelling. He served on the society’s Professional Development Committee from 2011 – 2017, finishing as Chair.
